Ranch Rodeo Wranglin'

This here ain’t the tough-as-nails cowboy riding a bull out of the chute. Nosireee; great jocks and great spectatin, that’s for shore. But the Ranch Rodeo is a team sport. Theme of our book, right? Old man Taylor and whippersnapper Pettit team up in bringing up the youngin’s so’s the future of the family and the world is all the better for it. Ranch Rodeo is a fast-growing sport because it’s as funny as it is hard. No eight-second burst, either. Two or three cowboys, partners on the same ranch, rope a cow (no, not “Bossy.” Thisser’s an untamed range mama missing her calf). Object is to wrestle her to a stationary enough place when she is neither so-inclined nor eager to give away her milk. One of the team actually pulls a few tablespoons of milk in (usually) a beer bottle, enough to visually pour out in front of the judges and the crowd. Eight seconds turns into eight minutes…or 18.

The following CATEGORIES of action, content, and thought are built in to Generational Fathering. Best you not milk this site all by your lonesome. Team up. Father? Son? Comrade? Fellow struggling dad? When you find something good, don’t keep it. Pass it on. It’s the COWBOY WAY!

Generational Cultures

Learn what all the fuss is about. Exciting to some, comforting to others.  knowing cultural patterns to each generation can enrich life’s understanding, relationships.  This is the essence of Gary's research for both the book and for the lectures he give to ease the furrowed brow...mostly of the older generations.

Personality Dynamics

Matt and Gary have found that understanding then accepting motivational patterns by family members is a hefty advantage in making and keeping healthy relationships.  Saddlemates are prone to pray for each other. Lot to gain if the Enemy can disrupt family; he’s successful at it. Smooth transfer of wisdom and godliness between generations requires strong bridges.  This section will make some basic observations of the Enneagram, a means of getting a grip on what motivates us, then moving toward a more healthy status.
